Taking a walk on 'The Sunny Side of the Street' is my way of saying I'm choosing to look at the positive in life.  That's not to say that a cloud or two doesn't try to block the sun, or an occassional rain storm comes my way.  As the song says, "Life's sweet.  Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street."

My Heart Hurts

Just for the record, I'm not thrilled with the new design yet, so I'll keep trying until I am.  I'm in a slump, a funk, whatever you want to call it.  Not just when it comes to my blog, but pretty much with everything.  I had bad news twice this week.

My best friend from middle school and high school called to tell me her Mom is not improving, but getting worse, and the end seems near.  I ache for her.  Then I got a call that some close friend's son died tragically and unexpectedly this past weekend.   I'm grieving with my friends, and that seems to have colored everything else in my life.  We trust and believe in God's goodness even when life doesn't make sense, but the pain is still real, and we must walk through it with Him leading us out.  It'll take time.

So sorry to hear about your friend's loss. I can't imagine, and hope I never have to live, the grief of losing a child. I don't know how people make it through such things when they don't have God. May he lead you and your friends gently through these times.

I am so sorry- my heart has been hurting for others lately, too. I feel so helpless not knowing the right thing to do. I hope you have strength and are encouraged.

Steph

My heart aches for your loss.
