Taking a walk on 'The Sunny Side of the Street' is my way of saying I'm choosing to look at the positive in life.  That's not to say that a cloud or two doesn't try to block the sun, or an occassional rain storm comes my way.  As the song says, "Life's sweet.  Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street."

  • Conspiracy of Kindness: A Unique Approach to Sharing the Love of Jesus
    by Steve Sjogren

We just started looking at this book and getting ideas for showing people God's love in a practical way... I encourage you to check it out!  You'll never believe how easy and actually fun evangelism is supposed to be.

  • The Papa Prayer: The Prayer You've Never Prayed
    by Larry Crabb

I am currently half way through this book.  Through it I am seeing some trends and thought processes in my life, that have not been conducive to what Christianese calls your "prayer life."  Larry Crabb is very real in this book, and admits that while being a leader, pastor, teacher; he too has struggled with prayer.  That is so refreshing for me to hear.  That people with positions of authority in the church,  struggle too.  I think I might make it to the end of this book!  For me to actually finish a non-fiction book, is a big thing!

  • Home to Holly Springs (Father Tim, Book 1)
    by Jan Karon

I have read the previous "Father Tim" books, and this one did not disappoint.

  • Safely Home
    by Randy C. Alcorn

This book was so good!  It made me think about all the believers around the world, and those who are persecuted for their faith in Christ.  I'm not talking the usual persecution.  There are people being beaten to death, everything taken from them, and their families put in danger, just because they profess Jesus as their Savior.  It made me realized how very selfish I am.  I've read some other titles by Randy Alcorn, and the thing I find most intriguing about his work, is his vision of what heaven is like.  It makes death in this life, what it is, a beginning to what is real and true.

  • Chosen (The Lost Books, Book 1) (The Books of History Chronicles)
    by Ted Dekker

I like anything by Ted Dekker.  His stuff is a little too intense and weird for some, but I enjoy his writing.  Marissa actually read this one before I did.  His next book, Adam, comes out in April.  I can't wait!

  • Fatal Harvest (Fatal Harvest Series #1)
    by Catherine Palmer

I read this last week, and all I remeber was that it had something to do with a food company trying to take over the world.  That's what happens when you read 5 novels back to back.  They either blend together, or you just completely forget what they were about.

  • Fancy Pants
    by Cathy Marie Hake

This was just a fun read.  Nothing deep here.
